Videography Guidelines

Welcome to BB Photo & Associates! Our mission is to capture weddings with authenticity, creativity, and cinematic quality. This guide outlines our approach, standards, and best practices to ensure every couple receives a polished, professional, and heartfelt film of their special day.

Our Approach

Observational & Natural

We aim to be present without being intrusive. Our goal is to blend into the background, capturing moments as they happen, rather than staging or interrupting the flow of the day.

Authentic Storytelling

Every wedding is unique. We prioritize capturing real emotions, gestures, and interactions—from a parent’s tearful glance to the couple’s quiet laughter. Cinematic shots enhance the story but should never overshadow genuine moments.

Intentional Creativity

While spontaneity is key, we also approach each scene with intention—framing shots thoughtfully, using depth, angles, and light creatively, and ensuring our films tell a coherent and emotional story from start to finish.

Equipment Requirements

Cameras:

Minimum two full-frame cameras capable of 4K recording. Matching camera models are preferred for consistent color and image quality.

Lenses:

A versatile set covering 24–200mm; prime lenses encouraged for low-light or cinematic shots.

Optional: Anamorphic lenses for cinematic style.

Support Gear:

Tripods, monopods, or gimbals for stable footage.

Drone capable of 4K for aerial coverage when permitted.

Audio Equipment:

Minimum three wireless or lavalier microphones.

Optional soundboard integration.

External recorder recommended (Zoom H4N, Tascam DR-10L, or Rode Wireless GO).

Redundant audio is critical—always have backups.

Cabling & Accessories:

XLR, ¼”, ⅛”, and RCA cables.

Extra batteries, SD cards, and storage solutions.

Headphones for real-time audio monitoring.

Pro Tip: Gimbals require practice. Focus on smooth, steady shots, but never let the setup distract from capturing the moment.

Audio Guidelines

Redundancy is essential: Primary audio sources might include the officiant, groom, or DJ/microphone feed. Secondary sources can include ambient or omni mics.

Continuous recording: Both cameras should capture audio at all times to ensure ambient sounds and dialogue are preserved.

Standard sample rate: 48kHz for all audio devices to maintain sync compatibility.

Recording Settings

Resolution: Minimum 4K (3840 x 2160)

Frame Rate: 60fps for b-roll, 24fps for cinematic ceremony/reception shots

Picture Profile: Neutral or flat for maximum post-processing flexibility

Dual Card Recording: Always enabled to prevent data loss

Audio Quality: 48kHz for all channel

Deliverables from BB Photo & Associates

Highlight Film (5–10 minutes):

A concise, cinematic edit capturing the essence of the day.

Documentary Edit (40 minutes–2 hours):

Full coverage including ceremony, reception, speeches, first look, dances, and key interactions. Cuts seamlessly between angles for a complete story.

Dress Code

Dress professionally, dark or neutral tones preferred.

Acceptable: black polos, button-down shirts, blouses, slacks, simple dresses.

Avoid jeans, sneakers, t-shirts, or hats.

Consider weather and venue conditions for comfort and mobility.

Pre-, During-, and Post-Wedding Workflow

Before the Wedding: Review the itinerary, locations, and special requests. Scout lighting and angles when possible.

During the Wedding: Stay unobtrusive while capturing key moments, being alert to emotional and narrative opportunities.

After the Wedding: Hand over files, edit according to BB Photo & Associates style, and avoid direct client communication unless instructed.

Team Standards

Arrive prepared and on time

Maintain professionalism and discretion throughout the day

Coordinate with photographers and other vendors respectfully

Follow safety guidelines for drone or equipment operation
